The Fiona

 The latest FREE crochet pattern from Knit Together Designs!  This adorable hat fits sizes newborn to 4T.  You won't believe the complements your little angel will get in this girly creation adorned with a huge Irish rose.


Hook: H
Sizes: 0-6 months {6-12 months}
Yarn: Vanna’s Choice
Color A: Antique Rose
Color B: White
Color C:
Gauge: 4 stitches per 1 inch

Hat:
Round 1: Chain 3, sc 6 in third chain from hook
Rnd 2: 2 sc in each stitch (12 stitches)
Rnd 3: *2 sc in stitch, 1 sc in next* repeat till end (18 stitches)
Rnd 4: *2 sc in stitch, 2 sc* repeat till end (24 stitches)
Rnd 5: *2 sc in stitch, 3 sc* repeat till end (30 stitches)
Rnd 6: *2 sc in stitch, 4 sc* repeat till end (36 stitches)
Rnd 7: *2 sc in stitch, 5 sc* repeat till end (42 stitches)
Rnd 8: *2 sc in stitch, 6 sc* repeat till end (48 stitches)
{For size 6-12 months: continue this increase pattern until you
reach: *2 sc in stitch, 10 sc* repeat till end (72 stitches)}
Rounds 9-12 {for 6-12 months dc for two extra rows before going on
to the special v cluster}: dc every stitch
Rnds 13 – 15: yo, insert hook into stitch, yo, draw yarn through
stitch (3 loops on hook), yo, slip next stitch, yo, draw yarn through
stitch, yo, (5 loops on hook), draw yarn through 5 loops all the way
around.
Rnd 16: sc all around, cut yarn, and tie off.

Irish Rose:
Round 1: With A, chain 3, then sc 7 in third chain from hook, slip
stitch into first sc to form a circle.
Rnd 2: chain 2, sc in same stitch. 2 sc in each stitch all around. Slip
stitch into first sc of round.
Rnd 3: chain 4 {skip 1 sc, 1 sc, chain 3} 7 times. Slip stitch into first
sc of round.
Rnd 4: {1 sc, 1 hdc, 1 dc, 1 hdc, 1 sc} in each chain space from last
round. Fasten off and work next round with C.
Rnd 5: working into the back of the petals from the last round slip
stitch into the back of the 1 dc, chain 4 and 1 sc into the back of the
next dc. {Chain 3, 1 sc in back of dc from last round} all around.
Rnd 6: { 1 sc, 1 hdc, 3 dc, 1 hdc, 1 sc) in each chain space. Fasten off
and continue with C.
Rnd 7: working into the back of the petals from the last round slip
stitch into the back of middle dc of last round, chain 4 and 1 sc into
the back of the middle dc of the next petal. {Chain 3, 1 sc into the
back of middle dc of the next petal} all around.
Rnd 8: {1 sc, 1 hdc, 5 dc, 1 hdc, 1sc} in each chain space of last
round.
Fasten off or keep following the above pattern to make an even bigger flower!
